What's New in December 2005. . .

Our very own Mary Jane has become a celebrity!  She entered the Interweave Press Scarf Style contest here at the DFW Knit Out and Crochet event back in September.  She won the GRAND PRIZE for the DFW area!  Way to go, Mary Jane!

Her scarf is  now on the Interweave Press’ website for all the world to see.  Please go and check it out.

A shadow scarf kit is available for purchase.  Please call the shop or send an email for more information.

It’s finally starting to get a bit chilly here in Texas.  You know what that means…time to kick it up a notch and finish (or start) all those knitted gifts!

In the spirit of the holidays, Simpatio Yarns is helping the Fort Worth Day Resource Center with a donation of knitted hats for the homeless.  We want as many hats as we can possibly get for this purpose by December 13th, so we have decided to donate a skein of Encore to anyone that is willing to knit up a hat and donate it for this cause.  One skein of Encore will make 2 adult hats.  You are only required to make one hat and keep the rest for yourself if you’d like…or you can make 2 hats and donate both!  All this will cost is your time.  If you would like to participate, please drop by and pick out a color!  If you fear you can’t come back to the store by the December 13th deadline, you can mail it to us!  All it’ll cost is 2 stamps to mail the hat back to us.

Gift certificates are also available for the knitters in your life that are hard to shop for.  Any amount is available for purchase.  Make it easy on yourself.  All knitters love a gift certificate to their favorite local yarn store!  They are available via phone or email.

New on the bookshelves are:

Knitting Pattern-A-Day Calendar for 2006 which includes two patterns from our very own Knitting Fairy, Alissa Barton

The Knitting Experience: Color , third in a series from Sally Melville

Wool Gathering #73 from Meg Swanson

Inknitters Magazine

Knitscene from Interweave Press

Knitting Vintage Socks by Nancy Bush

Ask us to help put together a basket or kit for a gift . . .

And don't forget to check the Sale Bin!
